Get Plenty Of Sleep

Your body is doing more while you sleep than simply dreaming – it’s performing routine and preventative maintenance – from healing existing breakouts to keeping new ones from forming.. So to rob yourself of this precious sleep time (you should be getting between 7 and 9 hours a night), you are asking your body to run on less than adequate maintenance – like asking your car to go 100,000 miles without an oil change – not a good idea. Help your body perform its routine maintenance by ensuring that you remove all your makeup before bed and cleansing thoroughly.

Exercise Regularly

Some women avoid exercise like the plague, believing that the exertion will cause breakouts. They are only partially right. The exercise itself certainly doesn’t cause a breakout – in fact, it can help your skin expel toxins that build up over the day. It’s the treatment of your skin before, during and after your workout that makes the difference.

First, remove your makeup before you exercise. Unless your makeup is specifically designed as an acne-fighting makeup, it can clog your pores and lead to the very breakout you’re trying to avoid by exercising. Look for products that contain salicylic acid and are oil-free and noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores).

Stress itself doesn’t cause acne, but it can indirectly make it worse. When we’re stressed, we do things we normally don’t and don’t do some things we normally do. However, you need to treat your lips in a more gentle way than you would when exfoliating other less-sensitive areas.

First, apply a moisturizer to your lips. Then, wet a soft-bristle toothbrush and gently rub it against your lips for a few minutes. Once you’ve finished, wash away the dead skin and lip balm with warm water. Though you don’t have to complete this process immediately prior to applying makeup, make sure your lips are as smooth as possible before doing so.

2. Expand your base

Apply concealer or nude lip liner to both of your lips, covering the whole surface and extending it out just beyond your natural lip lines. This way, you get a slightly bigger base than you would otherwise. You can also do this with a lip liner that is the same color as the lipstick you plan to use. However, with the colored liner, you’ll only create the outer edge rather than filling in the lips. With either of these methods, be careful with how far you stretch this concept. 3. Contour your lips

Just as you use highlighter and bronzer to narrow your face, you can apply the same concept to create full, voluptuous lips. Pick two colors that are only one shade away from each other, such as a red and a slightly darker red. Use the darker color on the entire surface, and apply the lighter shade right in the middle of both your upper and lower lips. The contrast of this kissable look will make your lips look instantly fuller.

4. Highlight the pouty parts

After you’ve applied lipstick, put a dab of lip gloss right in the center of both your bottom and top lips. These are naturally the fullest parts, and adding a bit of gloss will help them catch the light.
