Meladerm Review: Skincare Treatments for Your Hands and Feet

Of our entire body, the hands and feet are the ones that deal with the largest amount of work on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing – chances are your hands and feet are doing the majority of the work. In order to keep your appendages happy and to help them continue doing such a good job, it’s essential that we take the best care of them possible.

Foot Care Treatment

Did you know that our feet absorb almost five times our body weight? That’s a lot of pressure to deal with. While they may not look like much, the human foot contains an intricate network of muscles, tendons and bones. And when one of them isn’t in good shape, the rest follow suit. To keep your feet in tip-top shape, be sure to always observe the health and state of your feet. Keep your toe nails neat and trimmed, avoid rough calluses, and treat your feet and ankles to regular massages.

Make time in your schedule 2-3 times out of the week to pamper your feet in the following manner:

Grab a tube of sloughing cream or a good pumice stone and start working on those rough patches of dry skin on your feet. To make the task easier, soak your feet for a few minutes in a bowl of hot water to allow the skin to soften up. This makes it easier to remove calluses and other dry, flaky skin. After you’ve gotten rid of most of the hard and flaky skin, soak your feet in a fresh bowl of hot water and add your favorite bath salts for a soothing effect. Keep your feet in the water for 5-10 minutes. For a real treat toss in some essential oils like lavender or chamomile.

Pat your feet dry and put a fair amount of nourishing foot cream into both hands. Cup your hands on each side of your foot and use your thumbs to press firmly on the upper part of your foot and work your way downward, while distributing the cream. Once you’ve taken care of the entire foot, now work your way up towards your ankle and gently massage your anklebone using circular motions. Be sure to rub the cream deep into your skin until it has been fully absorbed. Wipe your hands and enjoy beautifully soft and happy feet!

Hand Care Treatment

We all know how beneficial a good manicure can be for our hands, but what about exercise? It’s true. When you want to keep your hands flexible and improve circulation, give the following hand exercise a try:

First, clench your hands into fists tightly for 1-2 seconds and then open your hands and stretch your fingers as wide as possible. Next, place your hands in front of you with your palms facing downward. Press your fingers tightly against each other and then quickly move them apart from each other as widely as possible. Finally, let your hands go limp and relax and rotate your hands in circles using your wrist. Go around once clockwise and then go back counterclockwise.

Afterwards, feel free to treat your fingers to a nice soak in a bowl of warm olive oil for a few minutes. Be sure to rub the oil gently into your fingernails and cuticles. Rinse when you are done and apply a good quality hand cream.
